Local ideas, local skills, local solutions

Thank you for your ideas so far!

Two of the three DY10 Road Show events are now complete, and while numbers weren’t huge at the first, the St Ambrose event on 28th created a real buzz! Thank you to all who came along and gave us their valuable input.

The black and white tablecloths set off the literature and the Partnership members looked splendid in their Big Local DY10 sweatshirts. Everyone who attends the Road Show will receive a FREE entry into a Prize Draw for a DIGITAL CAMERA. The display of information followed along the steps of the Big Local Pathway, and demonstrated how Big Local DY10 had implemented each step so far. More about the seven steps can be found here.
Large copies of the impressive Profile of the area, based on the questionnaire results and other available data, were available for visitors to peruse at their leisure. As were large copies of the Community Plan, that was developed from the Profile to give an umbrella action plan for spending the £1million over the next 10 years.

While enjoying their refreshments, participants were encouraged to share their ideas for projects that they would like to see implemented in the area for the benefit of all. These were written on copious post-it notes and attached to flip charts under the four individual themes:

  • Clean, Safe and Green
  • Children and Young People
  • Access to Support
  • Active and Healthy Community

These contributions and those from the third Public meeting which will take place on Tuesday April 21st, at 7.30 p.m. at St Mary’s CE Primary School, Stoney Lane, will help the Partnership design projects that meet the needs and desires of the DY10 residents.

So if you haven’t yet had your say, put April 21st in your diary, set an alarm on your phone, and make the most of this last Road Show event to have your ideas heard!
