BigLocal DY10 Parks Remember

Two of the Parks in the BigLocalDY10 area are remembering the sacrifices made 100 years ago in WWI.

Recently, with the help of students from the Prince’s Trust, the Friends of St George’s Park have transformed their shelter into a Memorial to the lost generation of the First World War.

Earlier in this centennial year, members of The Friends of Springfield Park, dedicated a quiet area of their Woodland Garden to become a peaceful Memorial Garden planted with poppies in the shape of a cross. The area of reflection is completed with a bench donated by one of the members, which looks over the Stack Pool. 

These are just two of the examples of why residents of the BigLocalDY10 area, when completing their questionnaires, identified their Parks as being so important!
